Career Ladder
The Joplin Schools Career Ladder Plan is a program that enhances the educational experience of students by recognizing and rewarding productive, effective educators. Through the Career Ladder Program, Joplin educators initiate activities that directly relate to the improvement of programs and services for students as outlined in the:
- Joplin R-VIII Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
- Curriculum Development Plan
- Professional Development Plan
- Missouri School Improvement Plan, or
- Other instructional improvement in the district.
The Joplin School District awards qualified, participating educators supplemental pay in an amount to be specified annually. This supplemental pay is in addition to the salary normally accorded to the teacher by the district's salary schedule.
Requirements and qualifications for participation in Career Ladder are listed in the Career Ladder Handbook. Handbooks are available upon request at the Roi S. Wood Administration Building (1717 E. 15th Street).
