All Joplin Alumni:
Share Your Story About High School Life!
The Joplin High School building at 20th Street and Indiana Avenue first opened its doors to students in the fall of 1958. In honor of the school’s upcoming 50th anniversary, school administrators are inviting all Joplin alumni – from Memorial High School, Lincoln High School, Parkwood High School, and Joplin High School – to submit their own true stories about high school life in Joplin. Alumni story submissions will be organized and posted for viewing on the Joplin High School website (www.JoplinEagles.org) for the school’s 50th anniversary celebration later this year.
"Joplin High School has been in existence since 1885, and we have long history that needs to be recorded," says Joplin High School Principal, Dr. Kerry Sachetta. "Almost 34,000 Joplin students have graduated at the public high school level since that time. Our hope is that the stories we receive can someday be used for a written history about public high school in Joplin."
Joplin alumni are asked to submit the following information along with their written stories:
- Name (including maiden name if married)
- School Attended (JHS, MHS, LHS, PHS)
- Year of Graduation
- Phone Number
- Address
- Email Address
- Year that the story pertains to
- Topic that the story pertains to: Athletics, Co-Curricular Activities, Core Courses, School Communications, Miscellaneous School Activities, or Personnel
Stories may be submitted via email as a Microsoft Word document to shareyourstory@joplin.k12.mo.us or may be hand delivered to the main Joplin High School office at 2104 Indiana Avenue. More information and an easy-to-complete form can be found on the Alumni section of the JHS website.
