Greetings! Welcome to our showcase site; I hope you see your student's work on here every so often and that this site is a valuable resource for you in keeping current with your child's education. I know I always like to read about what my daughter is doing in her preschool class and see what wonderful things she is creating! Below is a little bit about my educational/professional background, because, like you, I like to get to know my child's teachers. I graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 2002 with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education. I have spent seven years teaching at South Middle and am now starting my eighth year in the brand new East Middle. In 2006, I was given the opportunity to go through the eMINTS professional development program. I completed that training in 2008. Becoming an eMINTS teacher inspired me to pursue a Master's in Educational Technology. So, I'm currently taking graduate classes through MU and anticipate completing the program in the spring of 2010. I like to remind the students that school and learning never ends, not even for us teachers! My goals are to continue learning as a teacher, to find new, effective ways to meet the needs of my students (as we all know those needs are constantly changing) and to inspire my students to be good, successful people. I look forward to a successful, memorable year here in our new building. It is wonderful to see the students get the facilities, resources and community support they need and deserve.
