We
currently travel with EF Tours, an educational travel company out of
Boston, Massachusetts. Last year (2009) was our fifth trip with EF. We
organize the trip early in the year to give students and parents a
chance to save up and pay for the trip. We have several meetings to
organize and dispense useful information and answer questions. We love
parents to come along.
In past years, we have visited England, Ireland, Wales,
France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and
Italy, as well as little Vatican City. We have seen Stonehenge, kissed the Blarney Stone, ridden the
"Chunnel" between London and Paris, experienced the Sistene Chapel, climbed to the top of the Eiffel Tower
and sailed the Seine, embraced Venice, visited Dachau concentration
camp, sailed in a boat on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, and climbed into
the Alps to visit Neuschwanstein Castle, the one that belonged to Mad
Ludwig. And don't forget Big Ben and the Tower of London! I have more
memories than I can ever share and have more pictures than I care to
count.
Traveling is a great experience. It provides a huge
amount of perspective on things that are taken for
granted here in the U.S. It shows that people are more alike than they are different no matter
where you go. Going abroad will change you.
