Check out some of the great learning going on in our room!

Teamwork and Community Building is a large part of our curriculum. The pictures included are from such activities as Team Cars, Build A Chair, Cups and Save Fred. Each activity allowed us to not only get to know each other, but also showed us how to work together to accomplish a goal.

Jeff Snake

Jeff Cantrell, Education Consultant with the Missouri Department of Conservation, is working with our classroom on a special project -
a conservation club.
This will bring an awareness of not only conservation, but what we can do to help protect the environment. We are very happy to
welcome him to our class!

We are very fortunate to now have an
Outdoor Classroom
on our school grounds.
This was possible by a grant
from the
Missouri Department
of Conservation.

We are having so much
fun while we learn! Our 5th Grade Curriculum allows for us to weave the garden into many aspects of our classroom: writing what we do within the garden, journaling our scientific observations, reading of non-fiction texts, math calculations of area and perimeter of the garden beds, allowance of water amounts, rate of growth, observation and collection of insects, and so much more! What a great opportunity!

Solar System Review Movies:
These are some of the movies created by students on aspects of the Solar System. These served as a wonderful review for our test as well as a collaboration activity with our friends at Royal Heights Elementary.
Check out our work!

WebQuest Flood Podcasts:
These are the podcasts we created from our flood webquest we completed this spring. Listen for some very helpful information on floods & what steps you can take to protect yourself or your community.
Lend an ear!

MAP Test Prep Podcasts:
The MAP Test is very important to us! These podcasts were the end project to an extensive activity - we blogged some of our favorite test taking tips and then created our scripts for our podcasts with our parents on hand.
We were able to teach them how we podcast while creating
a helpful product for others to benefit from!
