Blogging for Beginners Klista Reynolds Blogs are found just about everywhere these days-in online newspapers, on sports websites, and they even held a role in last year’s election. In this session, we’ll identify the role of blogs in the classroom, compare different sites to use as your blog, and the benefits of blogging.
Building a Classroom Website Klista Reynolds, Shelly Tarter, Jason Weaver A website can be a powerful resource for your classroom. In this session, we’ll take a look at how to plan, design, and create an effective classroom website using free tools already available to you.

Creating Classroom Movies Using iMovie Danny Craven Ready to put what you know about iMovie to use in your classroom? This session gives participants a chance to develop an actual classroom product with tips and support from trainer. Bring your ideas, props, digital images or digital footage and the trainer will walk participants through the process of creating a digital movie from storyboarding to production.
Creating Social Networks for Teachers Klista Reynolds

Facebook, MySpace, Twitter... all of our students have social networking sites and can benefit from them if they use them correctly. Come to this training session to see what social networking can do for teachers. Learn how to create your own social network to expand your resources, find information from other teachers, and share.

Designing Constructivist Lessons Klista Reynolds We know students learn more when they construct their own knowledge based on making and refuting hypotheses. In this session, we’ll take an in-depth look at the principles of a constructivist lesson and work on developing a lesson you can use in your classroom.

iMovie Refresher Danny Craven Thinking about creating movies in your classroom with iMovie? Need a refresher since TLA to get there? This session will walk participants through the basics of using iMovie to create and edit digital movies. Bring your digital camcorder and cords with you (check outs available from most school buildings).
Podcasting in the Classroom Shelly Tarter Podcasts are an easy way to share information. Come learn how to make the most of them in your classroom by using existing resources and how to create your own using Garageband.
Technology in Literacy Centers Klista Reynolds Our students are growing up learning not just literacy skills, but technology literacy skills. In this session for elementary teachers, we will learn about websites, tech tools, and lesson ideas that could benefit students in stand alone workstations, options, or centers and how to ensure students are using them correctly.

Using Digital Images in the Classroom Shelly Tarter If a picture is worth a thousand words, then there's a lot to learn in this session about how those pictures can impact learning. Come learn how to use a digital camera and digital images to enhance instruction in all areas.
Using Excel - Beginners Rayma Taylor Participants will learn how to create and format basic worksheets with text, numbers, formulas, and functions. Other Excel features covered are inserting, deleting, moving, copying and sorting data.
Using Excel - Intermediate Rayma Taylor Participants will learn to develop more advanced formulas. Learn how to perform multi-level sorts and filter data. Participants will also learn how to create a chart within an Excel spreadsheet.
Using Gaggle.Net Jason Weaver Gaggle provide a school-safe email system for students and teachers. Come learn the system and how to use it in your classroom.
Web 2.0 Toolbox Klista Reynolds Now that you’re online with Web 2.0 tools, how will you use them to their full advantage and encourage appropriate student use? In this session, you’ll identify instructional strategies to encourage higher order thinking skills through reflection and peer questioning techniques when using wikis and blogs. Learn to motivate and engage students as well as encourage collaboration. Assessment strategies and how to convey your expectations will be discussed, as well as a basic overview of available online tools. Attendees will learn effective strategies to create deep meaning within any grade level or content and move toward transforming levels through Web 2.0 tools.
