About eMINTS

eMINTS is an international program that began in Missouri to determine if technology use in the classroom impacts student learning. Over the years, the program has grown to include nine additional states as well as Australia. To determine effectiveness, state assessments, such as the MAP test, are compared to schools and classes that do not use eMINTS. This data has consistently shown that the eMINTS teaching strategies are effective.

Although the primary tool used by teachers and students in an eMINTS classroom is technology, the main focus is how it is utilized. Higher order thinking skills and problem solving are the main focus in my classroom. Technology is used to achieve success.

I can guarantee you that I will challenge your children this year. I believe that high expectations for students are not only appropriate, but necessary. Being held accountable for moving past the norm and moving toward a deep understanding will lead toward good decision making and problem solving that is necessary in the real world. I would also hope that you hold those same high expectations for me.
